What can I do about a lost Wal-Mart gift card that I purchased?

Last night I bought a Wal-Mart gift card to give as a present, in the amount of $20. Somewhere between buying the card and taking it home, I lost it — I’ve looked all over and I think I’m ready to give up. However the receipt shows the gift card ID #, can I take the receipt to the store, get the gift card cancelled and have my money refunded?

i think you should call the store manager or head office of Wal-Mart. because i am pretty sure the can found the bar code of that card you lost from their computer. And they can cancel that card and issue a new one for you. But its hard to proof you lost gift card .sometime its stores policy I you lost a gift card it nothing they can do, because gift card consider as cash. If you lose you it you lose. i think you should try you best. Goodluck!

Wal-mart, like most other retailers, treat gift cards just like cash: if you lose them, you’re out of luck. They don’t cancel gift cards or issue refunds. Sorry!
